Particle removal is the most important factor to achieve optimal water quality in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS). Particles consists mostly of uneaten feed and faeces. These components must be removed from the water before it can be recycled back to the fish. If not the particles will start to dissolve and reduce the water quality, and negatively affect the rearing environment and fish performance.
